In the front yard, a dandelion
pride has persisted for years.
Every year they return to this
patch of Serengeti
face east and
open their faces to the
morning sun.
They cheer me
in ways I can’t quite explain.
I have a memory of seeing two
children play in a field of
these flowers.
Is that the warm feeling?
I tried to remove them once.
They returned
giving me another chance to
see their beauty.
