Planetary Lament

-on seeing the sculpture Crying Giant, by Tom Otterness (Kemper Museum, Kansas City, Missouri)

Human beings!
They make me sick.
Five billion times more or less
I trudge my way around the sun
just fine
and then they show up.
A mere million or two years later
and now look at me.
I could just cry
polluted tears.
I've got a moon migraine.
Human beings!

That was fun! (I could have benefited from a few more verses though...)

Perfect, Ed. Funny and sad and wise. Says it all in such a little space. I love it! Katy
