Beyond the sandy shore
abandoned for now by the tide
the horizon served up the moon
upon its evening-sky-blue plate
— a plump, about-to-burst,
Sicilian-style, deep-fired, Beef-steak
tomato —
No one moved (not even the dogs).
Silent eyes mesmerized, stared;
devoured completely
what no mouth could taste.
Delicious!

There is a lot of competition for moon-writing, but this holds up well.

Exquisite poem, Jana . . . really like the way you make every word count. It is a beautiful "look" on the page as well.

Jana, I love the way you have captured that mesmerizing moment when you, everyone else, and the dogs were caught up in the stillness and light of the moon, that awe--beautiful!
