One-step, to. One, fro.
Fancy foraging footwork,
The Towhee Tango!

by Jana Kalina.
Used here with the authors permission

Jana Kalina lives with her husband on Vancouver Island. Given her background in social sciences and journalism, she's found her voice in what she calls poetic journalism a way of documenting her Bohemian family history and her life (from a young age) in the many countries she's lived in and travelled through.

As a fan of Jana Kalina's beautiful poetry, haiku, alliteration and colorful birds, I enjoyed this poem.

Now here?s a poem that tests the limits of brevity. It?s not as short as the apocryphal shortest, ?Fleas,? Adam / Had em //, but close. The small towhee fits the poem perfectly.
