Chocolate ice cream melts in my mouth,
sweeter for being forbidden.
Never keep such treats in the house.
Chocolate ice cream, it melts—my mouth!
My diet plans have just gone south;
this digression must be hidden.
Chocolate... Ice cream melts in my mouth,
sweeter for being forbidden

Cynthia Bernard is astonished to report that she has just entered her seventies. A long-time classroom teacher and spiritual mentor, she says she is finding her voice as a poet after many years of silence. Cynthia lives and writes on a hill overlooking the Pacific ocean, just south of San Francisco, California.

Fun, for sure. Chocolate ice cream was a super-favorite of my father's and also mine. A unique abaaabab rhyme scheme.

A great subject for a triolet! Well-written. It makes me want to head to the freezer, ice cream scoop in hand!
